As with any complex activity, different people find Aikido attractive for different reasons — physical fitness, self-defense, personal growth, confidence, etc. For many people, the most valued dimension of their study is to be found in the way Aikido lifts them beyond exercise and techniques toward a life of greater clarity and equanimity.

For start practicing Aikido, there is no physical fitness or previous martial arts experience requirements, nor upper age limitation.
